The German pattern head offers a large curved cutting surface with added wedge wing shape for optimal splitting force on each side of the head. The Short Splitter axe by Adler was designed for maximum splitting power.  

When its substantial head weight (2.85 lbs) and shorter handle are used with a two-handed grip. The Short Splitter will help you split the most stubborn logs.
